Northwest Michigan Supportive Housing Northwest Michigan Supportive Housing 231 9291309 231 9291309 Ending homelessness by promoting mental Wellness Our History Northwest Michigan Supportive Housing NMSH originally the Foundation for Mental Health was founded in 1987 for the purpose of bringing resources and capacity to assist with the mental health needs in Grand Traverse and Leelanau counties. Initial activities focused on psychiatric recruitment evening counseling services and housing advocacy. In the mid1990s the focus transitioned to the critical need for supportive housing for persons with mental health needs. Since then NMSH has grown exponentially and now serves clients in Antrim Benzie Grand Traverse Kalkaska and Leelanau counties.
