We see a lot of mothers come and go across our programs — each with a story marked by courage, love, and hope. On this Mother's Day, we honor all moms — the ones holding tiny hands in hospital walls, the ones navigating uncertainty with strength they never knew they had, and the ones who continue to pour their hearts into caring for others, even after their own journeys. We’re lucky to have three such women on our team — mothers whose own experiences have shaped the way they care for the families who walk through our doors. They’ve felt the fear, the sleepless nights, the hopes that they will leave the hospital soon. And now, they bring that same empathy, resilience, and unwavering support to the work they do every day. 🌼 Meet Brittney, Jennifer, and Leah. 💪Brittney✨ became a mom in the most unexpected way—on a cold November morning when her son, Barrett, arrived more than 10 weeks early. Over 62 days in the NICU, she weathered birthdays, holidays, and snowstorms with her baby boy by her side. She faced fear, loneliness, and exhaustion—but never stopped showing up with love. One of her favorite memories is turning Barrett’s tiny footprints into a turkey craft, proof that even in the hardest moments, motherhood still finds a way to create joy. 💪Jennifer✨ At 28 weeks, Jennifer's twins made an urgent arrival into the world. She couldn't even hold them for the first three days because they were too fragile. She was grateful to have an opening in the side of their box where her babies could hold her finger. During their 86 days in the NICU, Jennifer spent every day by their sides because "it was never an option to not be with them, to not see them." They couldn't live on their own, and she couldn't live without them - Evangeline and William are her world. 💪Leah✨ thought she was in the clear 48 hours after giving birth and being discharged from the hospital. When three-day-old Hadley had a seizure, Leah called 911 to get her baby help quick. Every 2 hours, a nurse would come in their room to draw blood in order to check her baby's sugar. Leah would cry with baby Hadley, and when they were done another nurse would be back to do it again. In those 4 days, Leah only left her baby's side for 3 hours—to take a quick nap and have a quick meal in the Family Room. They know what it’s like to be the mom curled up in a hospital chair. They know how much a hot meal, a quiet room, or even a kind word can mean. And they are part of what makes our House a true home-away-from-home. This Mother’s Day, we celebrate them — and all the mothers whose strength quietly moves mountains. 💛 Happy Mother’s Day, from all of us at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Arkansas & North Louisiana. #MothersDay #KeepingFamiliesTogether #NICUMoms #StrongerTogether #ForRMHC (fb)
