For the Summer 2025 issue of Hand Papermaking, co-authors Barbara Landes and Paul Sullivan interview and present the work of three installation artists: Megan Singleton, Alexis Granwell and Jennifer Davies.  From allowing the material to lead the way, to the geography and natural landscape around them to dictate the work, to transforming paper using layering, stenciling and spraying–these artists take vastly varied approaches to creation and installation. In as much as I love to retain the original form of my @handpapermaking magazine collection, I have to remove the rusted staple wires and replace them by sewing with colored thread or kami-ito (shifu thread) from Asao Shimura. The rusty staple wires are contaminating the paper pages because of very humid climate in the Philippines. Anyway, it looks great seeing them on their spine on my shelves.” Through solving a problem & preserving your collection, you also created some beautiful custom Hand Papermaking magazines, pretty incredible!
