Hello fans! It’s me, Bennie! I am ready to find my forever home! I am one year old and weigh 22lbs. I am healthy. I am wiggly with grooming but otherwise, tolerate it all well. I like people and dogs, but not cats or other small animals. I have shown no resource guarding at all in my foster home with people or the resident dogs. I am very friendly with other dogs and respect their cues. I also am a good boy when meeting new people and don’t jump up on them. I can be a little mouthy when playing (something I am working on), so I will need a home with older, dog-savvy children. I am a silly guy who loves to be in the center of attention. I will need a home with people steady on their feet as I am often under foot; I definitely don’t want to trip someone and make them fall. My energy level is moderate….I will relax and cuddle but also like to play. I love affection and am quite the Velcro dog with my people. I like to ride in the car…but must be in the front seat (secured of course). I do not like a crate at all…if put inside one, I will cry loudly and continuously. I am okay on a leash. I will zig-zag while walking on a leash, but I don’t fight it. I am 95% housebroken. I am working on getting the hang of signaling that I need to go out. I would be no good as an apartment/condo dog. It is a house for me and preferably one with a fenced yard! I would love someone who is home with me quite a bit but also would be okay with someone who works outside the house but can provide me with a midday potty break. I love stuffed toys and am super cute when I play with them! I love carrying around a fly swatter, too. Weird I know…but I like what I like. I also like to follow my people into the shower and being held like a baby. I would really love to have a doggie friend to play with in my new home (definitely a big want of mine) and an interactive family. I know the commands stay, come and leave it. I am really smart so I am sure I can learn more if you want to teach me. I am a confident fella who loves meeting new people. I am healthy, sweet and well-behaved. Hello! I’m Jigs. As my name suggests, my past is a bit of a puzzle🧩 Here’s what we do know: I’m 40 lbs, about 4.5 years old, 39% Frenchie (DNA tested), neutered, chipped, and HOUSEBROKEN! My ears were sadly cropped at some point. 🧩 Piece #1: I came from a shelter. I was scared and didn’t handle it well. My first foster home wasn’t the right fit, so I moved to Florida for behavioral work with my new foster dad. 🧩 Piece #2: I can’t be crated or put in any chain link structure — I’ll hurt myself trying to escape. Whatever happened in my past gives me extreme anxiety around crating. I need a fenced yard (no chain link) and would love a kiddie pool! 🧩 Piece #3: Daily Prozac + Benadryl changed my life. I must stay on them. My foster worked with a trainer, there are 2 prepaid sessions for my future adopter. 🧩 Piece #4: Meds have helped me enjoy being a couch potato. I love relaxing while my people do yard work. 🧩 Piece #5: I growl/grunt to communicate — in the car, or when I need something. I’m easily redirected and not aggressive. 🧩 Piece #6: I love car rides and utility vehicles (safely clipped in). 🧩 Piece #7: I jump to say hi — I’m just excited and full of love! 🧩 Piece #8: I had a benign rectal polyp removed. It must be monitored annually. 🧩 Piece #9: I tolerate ear cleaning and like water, but baths and nail trims take patience (nails done at vet). I don’t love my feet or private parts touched. 🧩 Piece #10: I’m very vocal — no apartments for me. I walk well on leash! 🧩 Piece #11: I like people, stuffies, and calm dogs. I’d prefer to be the only pet but could coexist with calm pets. Outdoor cats = chase. 🧩 Piece #12: I’ve met kids — teens only, please. They must be dog-savvy. 🧩 Piece #13: I’m not a morning dog. I sleep in unless prompted! 🧩 Piece #14: I’d do best with someone home often or who can visit mid-day. 🧩 Piece #15: I’m thriving with patience and routine.
