We absolutely love this stunning 1931 portrait of Käthe Kollwitz which is part of our current exhibition of portraits by Lotte Jacobi. There’s something about her presence in this (now 94 year old) image that feels as if the photo could have been taken yesterday. Käthe Kollwitz (1867–1945) was a German artist known for her deeply emotional prints, drawings, and sculptures that focused on themes like poverty, motherhood, and the heartbreak of war.
