Home - Caring for Creatures No-Kill Animal Shelter Home Caring For Creatures located on 157 acres in central Virginia provides a safe refuge for dogs and cats with no other placeto go. Once an animal comes to the sanctuary we commit to that animal for their entire life if needed. Our hope is that we are only a stop on their journey to a loving forever home. If an animal is not selected for adoption we provide quality care and companionship for them as lifetime residents.

ARISTA: born 10/1/23, arrived 10/10/24 When I introduced myself to this beautiful, fluffy, long-haired gray girl, she got down into a low crouch and we locked eyes. She slow-blinked and gave me a high-pitched chirp. From the get-go, I could tell she was out of sorts about her new surroundings but super friendly.
