Overview

Chesterfield Sports Association (CSA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Chesterfield, Missouri. Founded in 2020, CSA's mission is to provide St. Louis youth with opportunities to grow, develop, and achieve their highest potential as athletes, students, and individuals. The organization owns and operates The Beal Center, a state-of-the-art indoor sports complex that primarily focuses on basketball and volleyball.

Facilities and Programming

The Beal Center, formerly known as Chesterfield Sports Complex, spans 97,000 square feet and features nine basketball courts that can be converted into 18 volleyball courts. The facility is equipped with Olympic-level flooring, professional-grade LED lighting, and HD/4K streaming capabilities, making it one of the top sports venues in the region. It is expected to attract around 900,000 visitors annually and hosts approximately 1,000 youth athletes practicing each week, along with 2,500 athletes participating in tournaments on weekends.

The complex is designed to serve as a hub for various youth sports programs, including basketball clinics, leagues, and tournaments. It also allows for the hosting of additional sporting events such as gymnastics, martial arts, and pickleball. CSA places a strong emphasis on the health and wellness of its athletes, partnering with local medical providers like Mercy Sports Medicine to offer on-site health support and performance training through the ACE Performance Lab, which is scheduled to open soon.

Economic Impact

The Beal Center is projected to generate significant economic activity in the Chesterfield area, with estimates of $3.6 million in annual local spending. The facility hosts over 40 major regional and national sporting events each year, bringing in out-of-town guests that contribute to the local economy by utilizing hotel accommodations and dining in local restaurants.

Leadership and Community Involvement

Stuart Duncan, a long-time volunteer coach and tournament director, established CSA after more than two decades working in various local sports organizations. His vision for the association is focused on providing a safe and supportive environment where youth can excel in sports and life. CSA actively seeks community support through donations and sponsorships to enhance programming and maintain affordable rental costs for users.
