For our next #FosterFeature we feature Pat, one of the fearless leaders of our Cat Team! Having fostered over TWO HUNDRED kittens, Pat has not foster failed... YET 😉 Learn about Pat's journey into fostering -- "I spent over 30 years as an accountant but always had a love of animals and was a cat owner my whole life. So it seemed like destiny when I was laid off from my job during covid and at the same time won a basket at the Claws remote trick tray. I had to pick up my gift at Val’s house and she had a room full of kittens. She asked if I could take one to foster for a little while and I so enjoyed playing with him and letting him fall asleep in my lap. I asked her for more kittens. Although I felt I was doing this for the animals I have realized that fostering is helping people also. I have gotten letters and texts from people who have never had an animal, telling me it has changed their life. They are loved unconditionally and they have fun stories to share with co workers and friends. It creates a bond with both people and animals. Yes it is hard to give them up at times but the joy you are bringing to the new owners is more than worth the temporary pang in your heart. I recommend more people try fostering" (fb)
