Say hello to our four young Gray Fox kits now in care at the center. 🦊 🦊🦊🦊🦊 These siblings came into our care after their mother was tragically struck by a vehicle near their den. Alone and vulnerable, they were lucky to be found in time and brought to us by one of our volunteers. They arrived frightened and defensive, just as wild babies should be. Since then, they’ve made incredible progress. In just a few weeks, they’ve nearly doubled in size, have become more curious and confident, and ultimately remained wild. Soon, they'll be the very first to move into our newly constructed enclosures, designed for critters just like them! Every animal we care for is a reminder of how vital wildlife rehabilitation is — not just for individual lives, but for the ecosystems they belong to. 🌿✨ Back to the Wild! ✨🌿 Say hello (and goodbye!) to patient 25-219, a determined Wood Turtle who proved just how tough turtles can be. This resilient reptile came into care with an old, and nearly fully healed amputation to its front right foot, and a mostly healed wound to the carapace. After a thorough exam and just under a month of monitoring and supportive care, this tenacious traveler was cleared for release! While the injuries were somewhat old and mostly resolved when the turtle arrived, we wanted to make sure everything was healing properly and that there were no complications before heading back to the wild.
