New Hampshire Troopers Association

The New Hampshire Troopers Association (NHTA) is a nonprofit organization categorized as a 501(c)(5) entity, primarily focused on supporting law enforcement officers across New Hampshire. The association plays a dual role in advocating for the interests of its members while engaging in various community-focused initiatives.

Mission and Activities

The NHTA aims to promote efficient administration of the New Hampshire State Police and improve the welfare of its classified employees. It serves as the exclusive representative for its members in collective bargaining with the state, addressing personnel policies and employment conditions.

The organization is involved in several community programs:

• NH D.A.R.E. Program: The association supports the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) program, designed to educate schoolchildren about the dangers of drug use and addiction.
• Scholarship Program: It offers scholarships to New Hampshire high school graduates pursuing degrees in law enforcement or criminal justice.
• Line of Duty Death Benefit: Provides financial assistance to families of New Hampshire troopers killed in the line of duty, covering funeral expenses and offering additional support during difficult times.
• Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth (CHaD): The NHTA contributes to the hospital’s pediatric services, furthering the health and well-being of children in New Hampshire.

The association also participates in public awareness campaigns, encouraging community members to report narcotics activity and support local law enforcement initiatives.
