Home - Greater Brookland Intergenerational Village GREATER BROOKLAND INTERGENERATIONAL VILLAGE ABOUT US Greater Brookland Intergenerational Village GBIV or the Brookland Village is a grassroots nonprofit dedicated to connecting neighbors across generations to develop relationships and access tools to age successfully in our community. Run largely by our members the majority of whom serve as volunteers GBIV represents the communities of Brookland Brentwood Langdon University Heights and Woodridge. WHAT WE DO Like other communitybased villages around DC and across the country GBIV strives to OUR VISION We envision a community where all neighbors. Feel welcome seen and valuedregardless of their age race or ethnicity gender identity sexual orientation health or socioeconomic status OUR HISTORY In the fall of 2018 several neighbors came together to dream up how to bring the Village modela way to support our aging communityto Ward 5.
