Congratulations to this week's, "Unsung Educator of the Week", Abria Pryor, Parent Advocate, CCSD Department of Federal Programs "Abria Pryor serves as a District-wide McKinney-Vento Parent Advocate in the Federal Programs Department. She is a tremendous asset to our department, and we are fortunate to have her on our team. She is dedicated and hardworking, bringing a wealth of knowledge to working with at-risk youths and families. Her love for helping students and their families connect to needed resources is remarkable. Over the past two years, she has increased the number of community partners from 24 to over 200. These partners assist students and families with their housing needs, food, clothing, employment, adult education and training, childcare, health and mental health concerns, and transportation. Through her efforts, since 2023, four families have received refurbished cars, enabling them to seek employment and access transportation to work. She assisted with the first McKinney-Vento Serving the Unhoused and Underserved Community Event. Each year, it has grown in attendance and provides direct services to families experiencing barriers.
