📣 BIG ANNOUNCEMENT! 📣 New Name. New Logo. Same Mission. We’re thrilled to unveil a fresh new chapter in our journey! The Sable Points Lighthouse Keepers Association is now LAKESHORE KEEPERS. Since 1987, our organization has evolved alongside our mission to preserve, restore, and promote West Michigan’s iconic lighthouses. What began with Big Sable Point Lighthouse has grown to include Little Sable, Ludington North Breakwater, White River Light Station and Museum, and, most recently, Manistee North Pierhead Lighthouse, added in January 2025. The Lighthouse Association has gone through two rebrands since its inception in 1987. Originally named Big Sable Points Lighthouse Keepers Association, our group had the sole mission of preservation, restoration, and promotion of Big Sable Point Lighthouse. After the acquisition of Little Sable in 2004, Ludington North Breakwater in 2006, and the White River Light Station in 2012, the Association updated with a new look and name to the Sable Points Lighthouse Keepers Association (SPLKA). After our recent acquisition of the Manistee North Pierhead Lighthouse this year, it's again time to rethink the Association’s name and overall look! The rebranding process is very similar to the one that occurred in 2012, in the sense that the organization’s mission, focus, and vision statement remain, but the public-facing name and logo have been updated. 🔹 What’s staying the same? Our mission, values, and dedication to preserving these historic beacons. 🔹 What’s changing? A refreshed public-facing name and logo—rolling out now and fully in place by the end of 2025. Each of our five lighthouses will also retain its original name and receive its own unique logo in the coming months. Stay tuned for those reveals! Thank you for being part of this amazing journey.
