Today we proudly celebrate the five-year work anniversary of our executive director, Keshia Meissner! Since taking the reins in 2020, Keshia has navigated our organization through the unprecedented terrain of a global pandemic and into a period of accelerated growth. Over the past five years, Keshia has brought visionary leadership, unwavering dedication, and a deep passion for preserving the history and legacy of Salisbury House. In that time, Keshia has helped grow our budget by 35%, led nearly $1 million in capital & restoration projects, created our signature fundraiser, The Garden Party, established several community partnerships, led significant technology upgrades, and recently launched our new website. Among her accomplishments, the Salisbury House Foundation has seen increased stability of foundation staff and interns, extensive growth in donor base, and an uptick in attendance to fundraising events. Keshia also worked to bring back Shakespeare on the Lawn, after a two-year hiatus, as a joint production and fundraiser with Iowa Stage Theatre Company. She serves as a co-producer of the event and offers creative insight and joint goal-oriented ideas and how to implement them. The 2024 production had a sold out run, and the fundraising event continues to gain steady popularity. From guiding major projects to behind-the-scenes wins, Keshia's leadership has made a lasting impact on our organization and the community we serve. She has put in continuous hours, creating a positive work environment and an enduring legacy for the Salisbury House Foundation.
