On National Clothing Insecurity Day, we want to share a story that highlights the struggles many of our neighbors face. For a single father working two jobs, just to keep a roof over his children’s heads, life is a constant challenge. He handles long hours and exhaustion with strength, but sometimes, the simplest things feel impossibly out of reach.

A book by Mariko Lin Chang, "Shortchanged," reveals that despite women earning more college degrees and narrowing the wage gap, the typical woman has only 36 cents for every dollar of wealth a man has. This gap in wealth accumulation affects a woman’s ability to build stability and save for the future.
