The organization was founded by Roxanne Nordquist, who recognized the need for Christian ministry outreach to those affected by HIV/AIDS in Central Florida during the 1980s. At that time, there was a significant lack of support and understanding for those living with the disease. In the early years, Central Florida Haven of Hope operated out of a small trailer, offering Bible studies and counseling services. As the organization grew, it moved into a more accessible location to better serve its community.
