Spring Home Tour Preview: 621-623 Kerlerec St Step inside a stunning piece of Marigny history during the 49th Annual Faubourg Marigny Home & Garden Tour on Sunday May 18th, 12pm-4pm in the Marigny Triangle One of the 9 featured homes on this year's tour is the beautifully restored 2 story double shotgun at 621-623 Kerlerec St. Originally built in the late 19th Century, the home endured a major transformation following a fire in 1936. It was clad in aluminum siding & subdivided into six small apartments before sitting vacant for over 50 years. In 2022, a new chapter began. The current owners embarked upon a full structural & historic restoration, bringing the home back to life & honoring its architectural legacy. The renovation restored many of its original features, including: -historic drop siding -Italianate brackets -custom 6-over-6 windows -original transoms, doors and staircase -heart pine floors -Greek Revival-style casings, fireplaces & mantles Modern upgrades were also thoughtfully integrated, including brand-new plumbing, electrical, HVAC and security systems.
