Circle of Friends Animal Society, Inc
Circle of Friends Animal Society is a small group of motivated people working to rescue as many cats, dogs, and other animals as possible. We work solely out of foster homes and are all volunteers. Circle of Friends Animal Society was founded in February 2007 by a small group of experienced rescuers who wanted to do things a little different. We wanted to be able to help animals that other rescue groups couldn't or wouldn't take because they had a health condition or because they might take a little longer to adopt out because of their breed, age, etc. We did not want to walk away from a dog because he was heartworm positive or from a cat because she had an eye infection. Nor did we want to rescue only puppies or kittens or only small purebred dogs or take a litter of puppies or kittens but leave the mother behind at animal control. There were eight of us originally – hence the 8 hearts in the circle of the logo. We started with a very small budget, doing adoptions on Sundays at Pet Supplies Plus in Athens.Today we have adoption teams every Saturday at PetSmarts in Loganville and Macon, every Sunday at PetSmart in Macon, as well as every Saturday at either Pet Supplies Plus or PetSmart in Athens. We still operate on an incredibly small budget with no salaried employees and staffed solely with volunteers. We do not receive funding from any government or national humane society or animal welfare organizations. We are financed entirely by our supporters and 100% of the money raised goes toward helping animals. Through the generous hearts of people like you, we can rescue animals from the fear and pain of homelessness, neglect and abuse, and give them the safe, happy lives all pets deserve. In 2015, we rescued 1,015. Since 2007, we have rescued over 5,000 homeless animals.
