Certified The Sturgeon Volunteer Fire Department is recognized by the state of Pennsylvania as a Certified Quick Response Service Certified Voluntary Rescue Service and a participant of the State Certification Program. Responsive Did you know 90 of Sturgeon VFDs emergency responders live or work within a mile of the station. This equates to rapid emergency responses times and a helping hand when it matters most. Dedicated SVFD Members are 100 volunteer and are almost always responding to emergencies from home or work.
