We need your voice—to ensure that the PEAS Farm and its educational programming continue to be a priority for Missoula County Public Schools (MCPS). MCPS is developing a Property Plan to determine the future use of 14 District-owned properties. The PEAS Farm (aka Duncan Drive) is one of them. ➡️ They’re asking the community— that means you—how these lands are used and what value they bring. If you have been on a tour, a member of the PEAS Farm CSA, volunteered, taken one of the UM PEAS Farm classes, attended a Farm Party...more...we’re asking you to speak up by filling out a short survey. 📝Here's what to do (before June 4 at 5 PM): 1️⃣ Take the survey now: 👉 https://engage.wgmgroup.com/mcps-properties-plan/MCPS-properties-plan-survey 2️⃣ Select the Duncan Drive property when asked about current use. 3️⃣ In the “Narrative” section, share how the PEAS Farm has impacted you. Some ideas: 🥕 I get my food from this farm. 🍅My kids learn about local food, ecology, and Montana agriculture in their class visits—and they love it. 🌾 This farm is a hands-on classroom and community hub. 🎉 The annual Farm Party is where I connect with my neighbors and the land. 4️⃣ In the “Concerns” section, consider sharing things like: 📚 It’s a rare and powerful educational space. Over 2,500 school kids visit this farm each year on educational field trips, and Garden City Harvest provides the bussing. 🥬 The Missoula Food Bank relies on the 15,000 lbs of produce grown here each year. 🤝 This is a one-of-a-kind community gathering place in Missoula. 5️⃣ For “MCPS Needs and Priorities,” we suggest selecting: ✅ Pre-K–12 Instructional Use ✅ Student Activities ✅ Non-Profit Partnerships ✅ Student/Staff/Community Events 🌟 Please mention Garden City Harvest as a key partner, and highlight the value of educational and food access programs provided at the PEAS Farm. Speak up to help MCPS better understand the value of this farm. 🕓 Deadline: June 4 at 5 PM Don’t wait—take 5 minutes right now to support this vital space. And THANK YOU! @umpeasfarm (fb)

Our farms already grow 20,000+ pounds of produce annually for the Food Bank. However, with recent funding cuts, they need more fresh produce - it's one of the most requested items. It's simple: dedicate a row or two of your garden to growing extra veggies, herbs, or fruits for the Missoula Food Bank & Community Center. 🌱 This is an initiative put on by the Food Bank and we encourage our community gardeners (and every other gardener!) to 'Grow a Row' for the season. That's right, when you grow a row, your homegrown deliciousness can have an even greater impact! https://missoulafoodbank.org/news/grow-a-row (fb)
