A Home Within - Celebrating 30 Years! For over 30 years weve connected individuals currently or previously in foster care with dedicated volunteer therapists empowering both to thrive. 🎉 We’re so excited to share that A Home Within was selected as a grantee by the Jewish Teen Foundation. These inspiring high school students from across the Bay Area spent the year learning about philanthropy, researching social issues, and raising funds to support causes of their choosing. They raised an impressive $108,000—and chose A Home Within as one of just seven organizations to receive a grant.

May is both Foster Care Awareness Month and Mental Health Awareness Month—two deeply connected causes that remind us why our work at A Home Within matters so much. Every child in foster care deserves consistent, compassionate mental health care. That’s why we match individuals who are or have been in the system with volunteer therapists who stay for as long as it takes—no time limits, and no strings attached.
