Hoosier Action Building the Indiana We Deserve. Were a homegrown community organization rooted in smalltown Southern Indiana led by our members We bring together everyday Hoosiers across their differences to win commonsense Hoosier solutions that improve our lives. Too many of us for too long have been left out and left behind by politics as usual in Indiana especially people struggling to make ends meet. By acting together we can make Indiana a place where all Hoosiers Black white and brown are able to shape the decisions that affect our lives.

HOOSIER ACTION INC
On May 10th, we held our 🎉 LARGEST🎉 organizing meeting with Hoosier Action leaders gathering across all chapters to launch our summer program: Knock Your Block. 🏡 It is more important than ever to know how to keep each other safe during crises: we face challenges as a community, but in order to keep each other safe, we have to know each other. We trained leaders on how to knock their block and make community safety plans.

The ongoing attacks on Medicaid at the federal and administrative level are already showing up in our communities in the form of paperwork errors, like Hoosier Action leader Eliza’s experience. After being wrongfully kicked off of HIP, she was told it would take weeks to fix due to backlog. Eliza can't afford to lose her coverage, and neither can the 1 in 4 Hoosiers that rely on life-saving Medicaid.
