We celebrate Father Michael Pfleger, SDPC trustee emeritus, for on this day – 50 years ago – he became the pastor of the Faith Community of St. Sabina Church on the South Side of Chicago. He’s respected as both a religious leader and community activist. Father Mike chose the ministry over a career in music, driven by his commitment to civil rights and the profound influence of Rev.
