At 16, Anisa Atalova traveled 6,500 miles from Kyrgyzstan to the small town of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. That year abroad changed her worldview and sense of purpose. Immersed in American culture through the FLEX Program, a highly competitive, merit-based U.S. Government youth exchange program administered by American Councils, Anisa embraced new perspectives and built lasting relationships. She came home determined to ignite creativity and opportunity in her community. Anisa earned her degree at the American University of Central Asia and completed a professional internship in Washington, DC. Drawing on the skills and connections established through international education, Anisa turned her inspiration into local impact. Today, Anisa is Founder and CEO of Uniqum Sports, Kyrgyzstan’s first accessible multisport youth complex.
