🚌 We’re on the fast track to impact! Over the last seven months, our Winter 2025 FLIPSpace: Advanced Mobility cohort explored urgent mobility challenges facing communities in Arkansas, collaborated with regional stakeholders, received expert mentorship, and prototyped solutions using federal intellectual property (IP)—all while building the skills to lead user-centered, sustainability-focused ventures. Their hard work culminated in a pitch competition at ICubedR new convergence and innovation hub in which teams presented their ideas to partners at HIGHWAY Ventures for potential funding and incubation. Join us in celebrating the winners: 🥇 Congrats to our first-place winner—Team Charge Chain! Saurav Pokharel, Adedolapo Ogungbire, and Mubarak Thanni created a peer-to-peer network for at-home EV charging, allowing homeowners to make their charging stations available to others in need, built on the Charge Station Management System from Argonne National Laboratory. 🥈Round of applause to Team “Fresh Score,” who cruised into second place! Robert "Drew" Fleming, Ehsan Naderi, Philip Sambol, and Najee Stubbs combined NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s tracking technology to create a “freshness score” system designed to reduce food waste in storage and distribution. 🥉 Three cheers to Mohammad Tahir Ansari, Toluwanimi Ogundipe, and Amarjeet Tiwari for coming in third place! The team pitched an induction-heated asphalt that’s longer-lasting and better equipped for heavy loads, using a patent from the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and VA Labs. 👏🏼 And, shout out to Sagar Silwal, Leire Ashqui Lopez, and Geoffery Agorku for completing a program-high of 48 customer discovery interviews—a testament to their commitment to community voices!
