Description

Apartment Association of Tarrant County

The Apartment Association of Tarrant County, also known as the Fort Worth Apartment Association (FWAA), is a nonprofit organization established in 1967. It functions as a trade association focused on supporting the business interests of multi-housing owners, property managers, and vendor partners across a nine-county region in North-Central Texas. This region includes Erath, Hood, Jack, Johnson, Palo Pinto, Parker, Somervell, Tarrant, and Wise counties.

Mission and Activities

The association's mission revolves around providing award-winning education curricula, exemplary public advocacy initiatives, effective communication mediums, and diverse forums for business exchange. These efforts are designed to define and support the multifamily marketplace in North-Central Texas.

FWAA is classified as a 501(c)(6) organization, which designates it as a business league or chamber of commerce. It is closely affiliated with both the Texas Apartment Association and the National Apartment Association. As of recent reports, FWAA represents over 1,800 members who manage or provide services to more than 230,000 apartment homes.

Leadership and Governance

FWAA's leadership team consists of seven officers and 17 directors, all of whom are elected annually by its members. This team, along with program chairs and staff, oversees every aspect of the association's operations.

Financial Operations

As a nonprofit organization, FWAA's financial operations primarily rely on contributions from its members, with some additional revenue generated from investments and other sources. Donations to this organization are not tax deductible due to its 501(c)(6) status.

Events and Initiatives

FWAA organizes various events throughout the year, including its annual Education Conference and Trade Show. These events aim to foster business development within the multifamily industry and provide networking opportunities for its members. Additionally, FWAA participates in fundraising events such as the NAA PAC Fundraiser to advocate for industry interests at both local and national levels.
