The DAISY Award honors nurses for their extraordinary compassion and care — and Deb embodies this every day. Starting her career with us in 2008, Deb has continued to grow both professionally and personally. She’s now pursuing her MSN and plans to continue serving our community as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. An excerpt from her nomination reads: “A male patient was in the ED room, throwing anything he could find. Without hesitation, Deb entered the room. She immediately met him on his level, asked what had happened to him, and how she could help. She showed him empathy, and he immediately calmed down and began talking to her. His main concern was that he didn’t have any shoes. Deb assured him we could help, and within minutes, she had found and given him a pair.” “Deb always prioritizes someone in need of help over anything else on her already full plate.
