Then/Now: Brielle Sorensen, #Classof2025 Brielle grew up hearing stories about U of I from her mother, Jodi Pavkov ’97. As a former member of the University of Idaho Alumni Association Board of Directors, Pavkov shared her passion and love for U of I with her daughter Brielle setting a high bar for the now graduating senior when she was looking for colleges. “She would literally rock me to sleep by singing the Vandal fight song,” she recalled. Brielle reflected on how her mom’s connections and relationships lasted through alumni-hood. The Vandal pride and community shown through at every visit to the Moscow campus and alumni event she went to with her mom. She squeezed everything she could out of her time at college, joining the Student Alumni Relations Board, becoming a member of Gamma Phi Beta sorority, getting a job on campus as a tour guide, participating on the Advertising Team and studying abroad in Greece. “I always held U of I to a very high standard. There were a lot of expectations it had to live up to and I can say with complete confidence it has lived up to every one of those expectations,” What contributed to those expectations? Campus culture and kindness, Greek community support and networking, and relationships with staff, advisors and professors. A double major in Public Relations and Communications, Brielle plans to return to her back country fire-fighting position this summer while staying connected with her Vandal network to explore what’s next. What does she say to her mom as the time ticks by before Commencement? “I owe it all to my mom, she’s my everything,” Brielle says with a tear in her eye.
