We're excited to announce that we will be launching "Wellness Nights" at the Colchester Senior Center later this year to provide evening hours twice a week at the new building! Since opening the new Senior Center at 15 Louis Lane in December, we have seen over 350 new members join. Many residents have reached out to ask about the possibility of evening hours that would provide access for our pre-retirement age seniors who may be working during the center’s normal hours. Last night, the Board of Selectmen voted to launch “Wellness Nights” that would allow us to open the center two nights per week from 4PM to 8PM. This would create additional hours for seniors who want to take advantage of the exercise and fitness rooms. There would also be a focus on healthy-living programming. The Town plans to utilize funds received under the state’s recreational cannabis tax to fund this new initiative without any additional burden on property owners. Stay tuned for more information. We expect to launch Wellness Nights in late spring/early summer.
