Creighton University's CPHHE REACH program (Racial and Ethnic Approaches to Community Health) is committed to improving health equity by addressing disparities in historically underserved communities. Through education, policy development, and partnerships, REACH empowers individuals to make healthier choices and reduce chronic diseases. 🥗 City Sprouts Omaha was selected to partner for this initiative because our community garden and education programs directly support the mission of REACH by promoting food security, nutrition, and sustainability. 🌿 Through hands-on gardening experience and peer-to-peer education, City Sprouts helps participants build the skills needed to create and maintain thriving urban gardens. 🍓🥬🥕 Recently, our staff helped to educate REACH’s peer-to-peer ambassadors, equipping them with practical gardening knowledge and community-building strategies, and allowing them to go out and teach others how to cultivate fresh produce, foster neighborhood engagement, and contribute to a healthier, more self-sufficient community.
