What do ducklings, goslings, and baby bunnies have in common? 
They love their greens—and they eat a lot of them!   One little bunny can munch through up to 8 cups of chopped greens per day. A growing gosling? About twice that! With multiple groups of bunnies and even more goslings in care, we go through greens faster than you’d believe.   As spring baby season ramps up, so does our need for fresh leafy greens. If you have any extra lettuce, kale, collard greens, parsley, cilantro—or even fresh-cut grass—we’d be so grateful for your donation.   Every leaf helps! 🌱

On Mother’s Day, West Sound Wildlife Shelter received a call about an adult opossum who had been chased by a dog and suffered injuries to her face. The finder was able to safely bring her in—but upon intake, we discovered a surprise: she was a mom! More than half a dozen tiny joeys peeked out from her pouch, all healthy despite their ordeal. This brave mother had successfully protected her babies, doing what all moms do best—defending her young. Our staff treated her injuries and supported her as she continued to nurse. As the babies grew, it became clear that even supermoms need a break! Once they were old enough, the joeys were moved to a nearby ward where staff and volunteers took over feeding and care. They thrived, learning to eat on their own and eventually moving to a large outdoor enclosure where they’re now climbing and preparing for life back in the wild. Mom is healing well and has seen how strong her little ones have become.
