He came down with a severe upper respiratory infection and couldn’t leave the shelter. He’s since fully recovered and is now healthy and ready… but stress from being quarantined so long caused another issue: Happy Tail.He’s been wagging so hard against his kennel walls that his tail is constantly bleeding. You may even see blood in his kennel—it’s heartbreaking. The only way to fix it now is a tail amputation… but we can’t do the surgery unless someone steps up to foster him during recovery.He’s sweet. Happy Vet Assistant Appreciation Week!!! We want to give a HUGE shout out to our Vet Assistants! They do so much for our animals at the shelter and in foster. Our Vet Assistants are always working very hard to make sure the animals are getting what they need. Their day starts getting all of the surgery drop offs, medicating our in house animals, prepping, monitoring anesthesia, recovering and discharging at least 10 surgery patients a day, lots of cleaning, appointments and handling any emergency that comes in at any time of the day.
