The Northside Festival continues the value of looking back to look forwardhonoring renewing and celebrating. Join us on April 26 2025 The Jackson Center is a lead partner in the Northside Neighborhood Initiative a historic broadbased communityfirst effort that is retaining longterm neighbors creating affordable and quality housing options and preserving the future of the most diverse communities in Chapel Hill and Carrboro. Come appreciate the creative works of our 2025 Sankofa Freedom School youth cohort at their art show this Friday, September 5 from 5:30-7pm at the United Church of Chapel Hill. Over two weeks, the students explored various art styles as a tool to process complex emotions. The showcase will feature poems, quilts, artist reflections, and more.
