On April 25, we said goodbye far too soon to our AmeriCorps members in Alabama and South Carolina after the federal agency overseeing AmeriCorps programs enacted sweeping and immediate funding cuts that impacted more than 1,000 programs nationwide. Our members didn’t get to finish their service, but the work they accomplished—the children they screened, the families they served, the lives they touched—is real, lasting, and deeply felt. To our AmeriCorps members: We are so proud of you.
