Urban Soil Housing Coop Urban Soil Housing Coop reinventing how we live in the city July 5 2012 by yukidokoroLeave a comment Welcome to UrbanSoil The Urban SoilTierra Urbana USTU housing coop is named after the idea that building soil is one of the most important things you can do to live sustainably and that soil can be built in all sorts of environments including cities. USTU is a nonprofit Limited Equity Housing Coop LEHC whose members share legal and social ownership of two of the buildings in the Los Angeles EcoVillage two block neighborhood. A basic definition of LEHCs can be foundhere. USTU was founded in 2010 by several members of the LA EcoVillage community with the help of CRSP the nonprofit organization that founded the LA EcoVillage in the early 1990s.
