Our own Julie Werland (FC AITC Coordinator) presenting to the statewide IL Ag In The Classroom conference in Bloomington today! Julie was selected for a PEARS Award (Pretty Exciting AITC Related Stuff)🤣 for a program she created linking Route 66 history with Illinois agriculture. The topic was her January lesson for classrooms this year. Julie is doing a fabulous job taking AG into our Fulton County classrooms, as evidenced by her selection to share with over 100 AITC Coordinators attending today! (fb)

What a day! 🌾🐑🚜 Yesterday the Fulton County Farm Bureau welcomed 17 4th graders, their teacher, and 37 parents from St. Germaine School (Oak Lawn) for a farm experience! The group toured Fairview Sale Barn (thanks to Laura Hardesty-Fidler and Jake Fidler), visited IFB District 8 Director Barry Fisher’s sheep farm, enjoyed a picnic lunch at the Fulton County Fairgrounds compliments of Fulton FS, INC, explored equipment and animals at Brian and Jennifer Lehman's B&J Farms near Vermont, and wrapped up at Imperial Valley River Terminal in Havana learning how grain moves to the world stage. We’ve proudly “adopted” this teacher's classroom for 16 years through Illinois Farm Bureau’s Adopt-a-Classroom program—connecting kids to the farm, one month and one memory at a time! The kids obviously had lots of fun on the visit, and just as importantly......the grownups had LOTS of questions and gained valuable insight from our conversations.
