Monkey wipes away his Carer’s tears and tries everything to make him cheer up 💔 He doesn’t realise that his Carer, Yasir, is crying because Yasir knows the pain and terror these monkeys are about to feel when they are torn away from him and taken to the zoo 💔 We don’t understand why animal welfare in Pakistan is always seen from a lens of what is beneficial to people when the whole point of the word ‘welfare’ means what is beneficial for the animal. Exotic animals are seen as entertainment and stray animals are seen as filth. These are the two ends of the spectrum. And there is nothing in between. We request the @climatechangepk to not see these monkeys as property of the federal government. But as sentient beings with ACF as their primary custodian. And if animal welfare is of utmost priority to @climatechangepk then why don’t we start by changing the laws of seeing animals as property to instead make laws to see them as sentient beings. And work together for that purpose. We can easily make adjustments to the enclosure, but a zoo cannot do what we do for animals. (fb)
