Read the Proclamation here Senator Merkley presented a flag flown at the US capitol in Washington DC to The Maxville Heritage Interpretive Center along with his generous sentiment on our 100 year celebration during a Town Hall meeting 2023 Maxville Heritage Interpretive Center for exceptional work in preserving the Maxville townsite a multiracial logging community established in Wallowa County in the 1920s. The multiphased approach included acquisition of the land project of the last remaining building archaeological research and listing the site on the National Registerof Historic Places.
