Every now and then, non-youth instructors lead the after-school program. And recently, Andria, NSNP's Executive Director, led the students in program. During Andria's day, she shared her personal artwork and art-making process. She then led the youth through a discussion of racial and cultural identity and how it can be expressed through artwork, specifically mask-making. Each group created a mask out of different materials, determined a concept and image, and then worked together to choose how best to tell their concept through art direction and photography. (fb)
