The Alexandria Association Celebrating Our 92nd Anniversary WELCOME On a warm August evening in 1932 the Alexandria Association was founded by 37 concerned citizens committed to the preservation of their historically important and architecturally distinguished community. In the first year they discussed issues still relevant today development of the waterfront support for the Alexandria Library programs on Alexandrias old houses and fundraising for preservation. Those individuals of long ago sowed the seeds of a thriving Association that now numbers more than 600 members. Once described as Alexandrias best kept secret the Alexandria Association meets monthly from October through May at The Lyceum located at 201 South Washington Street.
