The Facing Project

The Facing Project is a U.S. national nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a more understanding and empathetic world through storytelling that inspires action. Founded in 2012 by Kelsey Timmerman and J.R. Jamison, it aims to bring communities together by fostering acts of empathy, such as listening, storytelling, and bridging differences.

History

Initially launched as "Facing Poverty" in Muncie, Indiana, The Facing Project was developed to raise awareness about poverty by compiling personal stories into a book. The success of this initial project led to the expansion of The Facing Project into a national movement, involving communities across the United States.
