We’re in Washington, D.C. for the National College Attainment Network Leadership Summit! Today at Hill Day, NCAN members, including our team at Education Forward Arizona and Isaac Navarette, one of our scholars—met with Arizona’s congressional representatives to advocate for urgent action on student aid. With the Pell Grant covering less than a third of in-state college costs and FAFSA challenges creating barriers, too many students are being left behind. Arizona has everything to gain when we invest in education and training beyond high school. That’s why we’re urging Congress to: ✅ Shore up Pell Grant funding to support low-income students ✅ Maintain critical FAFSA support to ensure a smooth application process ✅ Protect essential student aid programs like Work Study, TRIO, and GEAR UP ✅ Ensure affordable loan repayment through an income-driven repayment plan ✅ Preserve Public Service Loan Forgiveness to strengthen Arizona’s workforce By making higher education more accessible, we can build a stronger workforce, boost our economy, and improve the quality of life for all Arizonans.
