Hurricane Season Is Here! As storms grow stronger each year, so does the threat to our communities from toxic sites like the San Jacinto River Waste Pits which are still not fully cleaned up. Flooding could spread hazardous waste into neighborhoods, waterways, and ecosystems. It’s not a matter of if, but when. We need urgent action to fully remove this danger before disaster strikes. Our communities deserve safety — not another toxic flood. 📢 Contact your local representatives to demand cleanup now! (fb)

Curious about early detection, cancer screenings, and disaster preparedness? Mark your calendars for Tuesday June 10 at 6:00pm to join us for a San Jacinto River Coalition Meeting where we will have booths from Houston Methodist’s Neal Cancer Center, Harris County Public Health, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, and The Coalition for Environment, Equity, and Resilience (CEER)! Come learn about the San Jacinto River Waste Pits Superfund Site and how your environment could be impacting the health of your community. (fb)

Cleaning up poisonous chemicals is the investment we make for our childrens children. Jackie Medcalf THEA Founder and CEO Communities shouldnt be blindsided by abandoned toxic waste. We focus on environmental health literacy informing people of the risks they may face and the ways to protect themselves and their families. Environmental contamination leaves nearby communities feeling helpless victimized and frightened.
