For the first time in nearly 90 days, new mom Madison Cook experienced a moment many parents take for granted - holding her baby. Born at just 26 weeks gestation and weighing only 930 grams (about 2 pounds), baby Kaysen Ryan Cook has been a tiny warrior in our Level 3 NICU since his birth on February 18. Madison arrived to BRG’s ER with a major health scare, and after Kaysen’s unexpected birth, spent weeks in the ICU at BRG. In honor of Mother’s Day, meet one of our fabulous mother-daughter duos. Nurse manager Arian Snell and her daughter Jade have been working together for years now and are still loving every minute. Arian says, “working with Jade is like working with your best friend!” And Jade loves being able to take a break from her unit clerk position to say hi to her mom (and steal her snacks!)
