Honoring Our Heroes This Memorial Day Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Their courage, service, and dedication will never be forgotten. As we reflect on the meaning of Memorial Day, we also want to recognize the incredible local nonprofit organizations in Ocala/Marion County that are dedicated to serving our veterans every single day. From providing housing and healthcare, to mental wellness, employment services, and proper honors in death, these organizations embody the spirit of service long after the battlefield. Organizations like Vets Helping Vets, Marion Memorial Honor Guard, The Vet Resource Center, and many others are making a lasting impact in the lives of our veterans, ensuring they receive the respect, support, and care they have earned. On this solemn day, we encourage our community to not only remember, but also to act.
