JAMAICA PLAIN TUESDAY CLUB INC
Built in 1760, the Loring Greenough House is a preserved historic home and event venue in the Boston neighborhood of Jamaica Plain.
The house is located within a 10-minute walk of the Green Street stop on the Orange Line. The 39 bus stops out front. The Purpose of the Club is to preserve for posterity the historic mansion known as the LORING-GREENOUGH HOUSE situated at 12 South Street, Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, to use the House as a base for community education about the history of the neighborhood, and to foster civic and community spirit in JamaicaPlain. The Mission of the Club is to be a community-based educational and social organization that assures continued stewardship of the house, other structures, grounds and collections.The Club will accomplish this purpose by: (1) preserving the Property known as the Loring- Greenough House located at 12 South Street, Jamaica Plan, Massachusetts, including the historic house itself, its collections, and its surrounding property; (2) educating both the local community and other interested persons about the history and historical contexts of the Club, the property, and the neighborhood; and (3) fostering civic and community spirit in Jamaica Plain.
