The Sierra Club-Lancaster Group recently awarded the Friends of the Railroad Museum a $500.00 Green Project grant, to be used to construct a new native plant garden on the northeast side of the Museum. This venture will be located across from the heirloom vegetable victory garden and will be a continuation of the education department’s K through 12 environmentally-focused programming. One of their goals is to combine the themes of exhibits indoors, and to provide hands-on, physical areas where these concepts may be fully explored by visitors. One such theme is how railroads transformed the landscape.
