The Showing Up for Racial Justice Education Fund - SURJ Education Showing Up for Racial Justice Education Fund SURJEF Showing Up for Racial Justice Education Fund SURJEF is a national network of groups and individuals working for a world where racial and economic justice thrive and where all communities are free from violence and fear. Through community organizing mobilizing and education SURJEF works to undermine white supremacy and move white people to act as part of a multiracial majority for justice. We organize white communities to work for justice SURJ was founded in 2009 by two queer white women from the South responding to the call from Black movement leaders to organize white people within our own communities. At that time fear racism and scarcity mindset was being stoked in white hearts and minds in reaction to the election of the USs first Black president.
