Monica and Buddy have been working hard to build a better understanding of each other. They practiced the Circle Game—one of the seven Parelli games that teaches both horse and human how to communicate with clarity and purpose. The Circle Game helps the horse learn to travel with focus, maintain rhythm, and stay emotionally balanced while responding to subtle cues. For the human, it’s about learning to lead with intention, read the horse’s feedback, and make adjustments in the moment. It’s not about perfection. It’s about progress. Monica showed up with patience and feel. Buddy responded with try and trust. That’s what growth looks like. (fb)

Congratulations to our volunteer of the month, Carm! Since January 2022, Carm has been a true force at Hand, Hoof, and Heart. She’s here several days a week helping with chores, caring for the animals like they’re her own—and if you ask Cricket the donkey, he’d tell you that Carm belongs to him. She’s been involved in nearly every part of the farm and supports our mission as a generous sponsor. Carm says, “Volunteering and sponsoring at Hand, Hoof and Heart has been a blessing for me in that every activity and chore allows me to feel good about myself because I am doing something wonderful and worthwhile for the community.” But truthfully, it’s us who are blessed.
