Love Nova

Overview

Love Nova is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Northern Virginia that aims to meet the physical, financial, and relational needs of local communities. Formed during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, Love Nova emerged from the efforts of The Journey Church community, which sought to support neighbors in crisis through various outreach initiatives.

Mission and Activities

The mission of Love Nova is to bring together community partners and local churches to alleviate local needs and promote community welfare. The organization organizes multiple outreach and service events throughout the year, engaging hundreds of volunteers to help address issues such as food insecurity and educational resource shortages.

Key Programs

Love Nova runs several annual programs, including:

• Meal Packing Events: Every spring, community members gather to pack meals that are distributed to alleviate food insecurity in the area.

• Backpack Giveaway: In August, Love Nova hosts a communal event where backpacks filled with school supplies are given to children in need, in partnership with local organizations like the Koinonia Foundation.

• Thanksgiving Food Drives: In November, Love Nova collects non-perishable food and household items to support families during the holiday season.

• Holiday Toy Donations: In December, the organization provides toys and gift cards to families in collaboration with the Koinonia Foundation to ensure children receive gifts during the holiday season.

Community Impact
